74.º aniversário da Base Aérea Nº4
A Base Aérea N.º4 (BA4) – nas Lajes, Ilha Terceira, Açores - comemorou no dia 12 de Junho de 2015 o seu 74.º aniversário e consequente Dia da Unidade.A cerimónia foi presidida por Sua Excelência o Representante da República para a Região Autónoma dos Açores, Embaixador Pedro Manuel dos Reis Alves Catarino. Além da Cerimónia Comemorativa do Dia da Unidade realizou-se uma visita de trabalho à Unidade por parte do Chefe do Estado-Maior da Força Aérea, José António de Magalhães Araújo Pinheiro.
O Comandante da BA4, Coronel Piloto-Aviador Tito de Quintanilha e Mendonça usou da palavra para, em ano de comemorações do Centenário da Aviação Militar, destacar a relevância histórica da presença da Força Aérea Portuguesa no Arquipélago dos Açores.
A presença militar no Arquipélago remonta a 04 de Outubro de 1930, quando foi inaugurado o Aeródromo Militar da Achada, com a descolagem de um Avro, um monomotor biplano, com o nome simbólico de “AÇOR”, tornando-se na primeira aeronave a descolar em solo terceirense, sob o comando do Capitão Frederico Coelho de Melo, natural da Freguesia de Altares.
Ainda durante o discurso o Comandante da BA4 destacou o papel preponderante no apoio às populações e autoridades civis locais, nomeadamente através das evacuações sanitárias e do transporte inter-ilhas. No apoio ao Comando da Zona Aérea, nomeadamente através das missões de busca e salvamento.
A cerimónia contou com a rendição do Porta-Estandarte Nacional e do Porta-Estandarte da Unidade, um momento de homenagem aos mortos da Força Aérea Portuguesa, e terminou com a imposição de condecorações aos militares e entrega aos funcionários civis do pergaminho comemorativo dos 25 anos ao serviço na Força Aérea.
A Base Aérea N.º 4, também conhecida por Base das Lajes, é anterior à própria Força Aérea Portuguesa e possui uma história rica em momentos determinantes, que por sua vez marcaram vários pontos do século XX. (FAP)
Europa treina Transporte Aéreo Táctico em Portugal

[size]A Força Aérea Portuguesa realiza, entre os dias 15 e 26 de Junho, o exercício multinacional “EATT15”, no âmbito do programa de exercícios de Aeronaves de Transporte Aéreo Táctico da Agência Europeia de Defesa.
Este exercício envolve a participação da Força Aérea e do Exército Português assim como de forças da Bélgica, Finlândia, França, Alemanha, Itália, Lituânia, Holanda, Roménia, Suécia e do Reino Unido e ainda como países observadores o Brasil, os Estados Unidos da América e a Polónia.
O EATT15 tem como finalidade treinar e aprontar os pilotos e tripulantes das respectivas aeronaves, garantido desta forma, que as forças participantes estão prontas a cumprir as missões que lhes estão atribuídas em qualquer teatro de operações no seio da aliança europeia. Para além do treino individual, pretende-se ainda aumentar interoperabilidade entre as várias forças participantes.
Realizou-se no dia 14 de Junho a cerimónia que marca o início do exercício Eatt2015 tendo o Coronel Eurico Craveiro, Director das Operações Aéreas da Força Aérea, dado as boas vindas a todos os militares presentes realçando, no seu discurso de abertura, “a importância deste tipo de exercícios no seio da aliança europeia” afirmando que a Força Aérea tudo fará para “atingir o mais alto nível de interoperabilidade e eficiência com as forças aliadas". 17 June 2015Today, Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Group-IB, an Internet security provider, in order to initiate cooperation in fighting cybercrime. The MoU allows for the exchange of strategic information, expertise, trends and statistical data, and the cooperation will focus on fraud prevention and combating various forms of cybercrime.

17 June 2015On 2-5 June 2015 in Linares, Spain, Europol facilitated a cyclical seminar and training session for more than 70 chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) and explosives experts. The event was attended by officers from 26 EU Member States, Australia, Norway, Switzerland and the USA. Specialised agencies such as the Centre of Excellence on Countering Improvised Explosive Devices, European Centre for Disease Control, International Atomic Energy Agency, European Police College (CEPOL) and the Europol expert team were also present.
