Exército iraquiano prestes a reconquistar Tikrit ao Estado Islâmico

There's a Baltic state that is preparing for future Russian aggression. A state which suffered similar threats and attacks as those seen in Ukraine today. That was 25 years ago when the country tried to leave the Soviet Union. Today it sits in NATO and the EU. NATO Review takes an in depth look at why Lithuania knows Russia - and the Ukrainian situation - so well. Read more

Colorado bill would impose $15,000 fine on cops who try to stop people from filming them
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
A package of police oversight bills introduced in the Colorado Legislature includes a measure that would impose up to $15,000 in civil penalties if a law enforcement officer seizes or destroys a citizen’s recording or interferes with someone trying to film them. "Primarily, it came up as a result of the number of news reports we’ve been seeing about police officers telling people, ‘Give me your camera,’ or taking the data away, and that is unacceptable conduct," said Rep. Joe Salazar, a Democrat from Thornton and co-sponsor of the bill.
North Dakota Takes Bold Step Forward On Commercial Hemp Industry, Tells Feds To Stay Out
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple (R) signed a bill into law on Friday that lays the groundwork for a commercial hemp industry and explicitly cuts the federal government out of the state's licensing process. House Bill 1436 establishes guidelines for the state's industrial hemp program and allows people to apply to grow the plant for either research or commercial purposes. With its provision for commercial hemp, the law goes beyond the federal Farm Bill, passed by Congress last year, which allowed some states to cultivate the plant, but only for research purposes and in more restricted pilot programs.

FORMER MONSANTO EMPLOYEE FIRED FROM MAJOR SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL’S EDITOR POSITION

Ex-Monsanto employee Richard Goodman has been removed from the Editorial Board of the Journal of Food and Chemical Toxicology. Goodman was appointed Associate Editor shortly before the Seralini study was retracted by the journal. Former Editor-in-Chief, A. Wallace Hayes will be replaced by someone else as well. It looks like one scientific journal has decided to get real, replacing a pro-GMO editor in a major scientific journal. An ‘unbiased’ Editor-in-Chief will be replacing the completely biotech-biased A. Wallace Hayes, who retracted the controversial paper by the Seralini team which showed the toxicity of GMOs beyond any shadow of doubt.
U.S. Nerve Gas Hit Over 200,000 American Troops in Iraq
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
During and immediately after the first Gulf War, more than 200,000 of 700,000 U.S. troops sent to Iraq and Kuwait in January 1991 were exposed to nerve gas and other chemical agents. Though aware of this, the Department of Defense and CIA launched a campaign of lies and concocted a cover-up that continues today. A quarter of a century later, the troops nearest the explosions are dying of brain cancer at two to three times the rate of those who were farther away. Others have lung cancer or debilitating chronic diseases, and pain.
One Dead, One Injured After Minivan and Police SUV Collide at Entrance to NSA

Fort Meade, Maryland – A shooting reportedly broke out at the NSA this morning after a car crash involving a police vehicle and a van that seems to have belonged to a civilian. One person on the scene has been reported dead, and at least two others were rushed to the emergency room to be treated for unknown injuries. It was reported that there was at least one police officer among those injured. The Anne Arundel County Police Department and Fire Department responded to the scene, but neither are able to make any statements on the incident because it occurred on NSA property.
Paranoia Reigns in Congress Over an International Financial Cabal
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
It’s tough to keep up with the conspiracy theories that run rampant from day to day in the hallowed halls of Congress. But one that is gaining traction is that the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Stability Oversight Council (whose acronym is pronounced F-SOC) is the handmaiden of an international finance cabal and is obediently marching to its beat instead of the mandates of Congress.

How California's drought works: We grow fruits, nuts and vegetables in a desert with government-subsidized water
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
Agriculture is the heart of California’s worsening water crisis, and the stakes extend far beyond the state’s borders. Not only is California the world’s eighth largest economy, it is an agricultural superpower. It produces roughly half of all the fruits, nuts, and vegetables consumed in the United States—and more than 90 percent of the almonds, tomatoes, strawberries, broccoli and other specialty crops—while exporting vast amounts to China and other overseas customers. Consuming 80 percent of California’s developed water but accounting for only 2 percent of the state’s GDP, agriculture thrives while everyone else is parched.

U.S. Northern Commmand chief Admiral William Gortney said the combined deals represent “a 100-fold increase from prior years.” For a military supposedly proud of its independence from the United States, it is a dependent client.

Was Hillary Clinton, While Secretary of State, Running a Secret Spy Network?
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
A trove of emails released two years ago show that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had access to intelligence from a private spy network run by an old confidant. In 2012, the email account of Sidney Blumenthal, a long-time associate of Bill and Hillary Clinton, was accessed by Romanian hacker Marcel-Lehel Lazar, who went by the name Guccifer. Blumenthal’s emails, which were posted on the internet, showed he’d had correspondence with Hillary Clinton via her private email account. They revealed that Blumenthal was providing back-channel intelligence to Clinton about Libya’s civil war in the run-up to the Benghazi disaster, according to a report from ProPublica and Gawker.
VIDEO: Farmer Asks Nebraska Oil & Gas Commissioners To Drink Fracking Wastewater Before Approving Plan
    Posted: 29 Mar 2015 10:00 PM PDT
Last week, there was a compelling moment in the meeting of the Nebraska Oil and Gas Commission when a Nebraska farmer stepped forward to discuss the plan to allow 80 truckloads carrying 10,000 barrels per day containing fracking wastewater into Nebraska. Then the farmer offered the Commissioners a simple challenge: you drink it. The disposal water is destined to be dumped into a disposal well in Sioux County, a move that farmers and ranchers fear will contaminate state waters — a problem associated with such waste in other states.
